Announcements:

• Grades: to compute your grade, I rescaled your homework total so it was out of 50 points, and rescaled your final so it was out of 150 points. Then I added together your midterm scores (plus revisions, if you did them), your rescaled homework total, and your rescaled final, to get a score out of 400 points. Then your grade is given by the formula

     grade = 2(total - 262)/118 + 2.0
  	

• The final exam took place on March 18 (for section H) or March 19 (for section E). The median was 85; the average was 83.6.
• The second midterm took place on Wednesday, February 26. The median was 74 (80 after revisions); the average was 72.5 (78.1 after revisions). Solutions are available (PDF file).
• The first midterm took place on Monday, January 27. The median was 82 (85 after revisions); the average was 78.1 (82.4 after revisions). Solutions are available (PDF file).

How to read the homework solutions (and some of the other information posted here)

• The homework solutions (etc.) are PDF files. One way to read these is with a program called "Adobe Acrobat Reader". This program may already be installed on your computer; if not, it is available, for free, for a variety of platforms, from Adobe's web site. (Other ways to view PDF files: ghostview, gv, gsview and xpdf.)
