Textbook and Webassign If you purchased webassign for
Math 111, you can log
in with your UW net ID and start doing your homework. If not (unlikely because
Math 111 is the prerequisite for this course), you have to purchase webassign within the first two weeks of the course.
If you get your webassign at the bookstore together
with your textbook, follow the directions in the envelope. Here are step by step directions with some
screenshots to help you through the process. Webassign comes with an electronic version of the textbook Mathematical Applications for the Management, Life, and Social Sciences, twelfth edition, by Harshbarger and Reynolds. In Math 112 we will cover Chapters 9-14. You are not required to purchase a hard copy of the text. |
||
Grading There will be two midterms, one final exam,
quizzes, activities and homework assignments. The final is 30%, midterms are
24% each, the homework assignments are 10%, the quizzes are 8% and the activities
are 4% of your grade. Late homework is not accepted. There are no make ups
for activities, quizzes or midterms. I will drop your lowest activity and
quiz grades. See me if you miss an exam. You can follow your homework scores
in Webassign
and the rest of your grades from catalyst |
||
General You can bring a handwritten 8 ½ “ by 11” (regular notebook size) sheet of notes to the exams. Single sided for the midterms, double sided for the final. Homework assignments will be
visible one week before they are due. In the quiz sections, after the activity
or the quiz, you can discuss your homework problems. |
