- Don't forget that you can find prepared lecture materials through the link at the right of this page (included are exam 1 review lecture materials).
- An overview of 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3 that will be what we are discussing this week (and it is the last topic before the first midterm).
- If you having trouble choosing "dx" or "dy", try this exercise four practice problems (from lecture) for finding the area between curves
  and solutions. For all problems in chapter 6, you start by choosing "dx" or "dy" in the same way as these four problems!
- Here is an old quiz that I gave on u-substitution (solutions included). Students told me this quiz was hard, so try these out and see if you can do these "hard" substitution problems.
- Rememember, to check out Dr. Loveless' Exam Archive which contains many old exams by me with full solutions. You should also look at all the old exams in the math department's exam 1 archive.

- Here is a a list of the integrals you can do in one step. Up to section 5.4, the only integration method is "simplify and hope". That is, simplify your integrand, and hope that you end up with something in this table.
- Section 5.5 is about changing the independent variable (or substitution), here is a supplement on some of the theory behind u-substitution.
- Here is a list of basic integral practice problems and here are solutions (you should practice until you can do all of these quickly).

- Here is a summary of the steps in constructing a Riemann sum (You may want to bring this to class).
- List of Basic Antiderivatives. Currently, our only integration techinique is to simplify the function algebraically into a sum of functions in this table. With our current methods, we can only find antiderivatives of sums and constant multiples of functions that look EXACTLY like the functions in this table.
- Riemann Sums (pdf): This is a copy of a couple of the overheads from my 5.1 lecture concerning approximating rectangles. In addition, it includes most of the solution to problem 5.1/24 on the second page.
- Calculus I Review (pdf): Contains a table of the basic derivatives, the basic derivative applications, and finishes with a review of trig and algebra (you received a copy if you attended quiz section).
Announced 3/23/17: Welcome to Math 125! This webpage contains the course syllabus, the homework schedule, a course calendar and links to review material. Each week, I will be posting numerous new review sheets and announcements. Please check back regularly.

Some notes about the first week of the quarter:
- Your first homework assignment will be visible the first day of class. Most assignments will be due on the Wednesday of the week after they appear (typically about 8-10 days after they first become visible). The most accurate due dates can be seen on webassign.
- General course information can be found here.
- All students must have access to Webassign in order to do the homework. The access you purchase for Math 124 will also work for 125, 126, and 324 (only one code needed for these four courses since they all use the same book). For information on how to purchase access, follow the link below and read carefully: Webassign Purchasing and Log-In Instructions.
- Note: UW students need to use a special login page for webassign. (You can log-in for free as part of the two week trial period even if you haven't puchased webassign yet. So everyone has access to the homework on the first day of class.): https://www.webassign.net/washington/login.html.
