Information about the first midterm
- Solutions are available: Section
E and Section G (PDF
format).
- The median was 73.
- The average was 69.4.
- Here are guesses (repeat: guesses -- these
numbers are subject to change at my whim) for grade
equivalents for the exam: 95% would be 4.0, 90% would be
3.7, 85% would be 3.4, etc. (Every drop of 5% in exam
score translates to a drop in grade by 0.3.)

Information about the second midterm

- The median was 86.
- The average was 80.1.
- Here are guesses for grade equivalents for the exam:
95% is 4.0, 82.5% is 3.0, 70% is 2.0, 57.5% is 1.0. These
will still be valid guesses after exam revisions are taken
into account.
