- More Fundamental Hyperbolic
Geometry
- All triangles have defect zero (euclidean) or negative (hyperbolic).
Negative defect contradicts telephone pole distance figure.
- Two parallel lines through one point yields a triangle with a
very small angle and positive defect.
- AAA congruence. Proof in BG Chapter 15.
- READING in Sved. Conclude the reading of all of Chapter 4.
This class and the Friday 2/28 class conclude the presentation of Chapter
4. You should read the whole chapter, including the problems, since
that is the place in the chapter where the work is done (some problems
were discussed in class; others are on Assignment 9B).
- Additional reading source - Berele Goldman, Chapter 15 has
an alternative treatment of some of the hyperbolic non-euclidean geometry.

section.
- Reading in Ogilvy. 94-103 on Cross-Rati
