Student Guide:
The first lecture this week will discuss some more applications of differential equations from sections 9.3, and possibly 3.8 and 9.4.
Note that Section 3.8 covers Exponential Growth and Decay -- this is Precalculus material and should be familiar. However, we now focus on the aspects that are related to Differential Equations. Be sure you know how to solve these problems using the techniques of Section 9.3: setting up the diff eq and solving it by separating the variables. If there is time, your instructor may also cover a portion of Section 9.4.
Most instructors devote one or two lecture periods to in-class review sessions. The sample final exams in the Final Exam Archive make good review material.WORKSHEETS: The two worksheets ReviewOne.pdf and ReviewTwo.pdf give examples of the types of problems you can expect on the final exam.
