PROJECT 1 ASSIGNMENT DUE.

Homework to do before class Wednesday 2/13. This homework will NOT be collected.

• Read Section 4.6, make sure you understand the definitions of rank, row space, column space, null space and nullity. Also memorize the Rank Theorem and the Invertible Matrix Theorem.
• Do problems 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 28.

Wednesday 2/13

Homework to do before class Friday 2/15. This homework will NOT be collected.

• Read 6.1
  From Exercises 6.1 Answer 1- 19 odd (much of this should be review from 126)

Assignment #5 to be written up and TURNED IN Friday 2/1. This a short but important set of problems.

• Section 4.5: #22, 24
• Section 4.6: #8, 10, 12, 14 (Justify your answer for these problems.)

Friday 2/15

Homework to do before class Wednesday 2/20. This homework will NOT be collected.

• Read Section 6.2. Make sure you know the defenitions of orthogonal basis, orthonormal sets and orthogonal projection.
• Do Section 6.2, Problems 1-21 odd, and problems 8 and 14.
