Math 444 Geometry for teachers
Midterm guide and rules

Date: February 15, in class.
Closed book, closed notes, all electronic devices off and away, individual work only!
Allowed:

1.      List of axioms and theorems of Incidence geometry (Chapter 2) (a printed copy will be provided at the midterm)

2.      List of axioms and theorems of Plane geometry (Chapter 3) (a printed copy will be provided at the midterm; ignore Postulate 6 and Theorem 3.43-3.51.)

3.      A one-sided page of notes handwritten or typed up by you

Material: Chapters 1, 2, and 3 (up to Plane separation section on p. 76).  You should understand the statements and proofs of all theorems in the book. The following theorems may appear explicitly on the midterm:

1.      Everything that was proven in class: 2.25, 2.26, 2.32, 3.1, 3.3, 3.26, 3.27

2.      Everything that was assigned as homework: 2.34, 2.35, 2.37, 2.41, 2.42, 3.4, 3.8, 3.12, 3.22, 3.23, 3.24(b), 3.28, 3.35

3.      Additionally, 3.5(Ruler placement theorem), 3.11, 3.15, 3.17, 3.18, 3.39

4.      Review ALL homework; know how to do ALL homework problems correctly.
