Installing MATLAB on a Client System

This section describes how to install MATLAB on a client system running Windows in a local client access configuration. See Local Client Access Configuration for information about this type of installation.

The installation procedure on a client system is almost identical to the procedure on a server; however, there are some differences. For example, in a client installation, you do not install the license manager. This table lists all the steps in the network installation procedure and notes where they are different on client systems. For more detailed information about any of the steps, go to the description of the step in Basic Network Installation Procedure.

Step 1: Before you install	You do not have to stop the license manager.
Step 2: Start the installer	Same
Step 3: Enter identification and licensing Information	Use the PLP that you used for your license server installation.
Step 4: Specify location of License File	Specify the location of the processed License File that was created during the license manager installation on the license server. See License File Location for more information.
Step 5: Review the software licensing agreement	Same
Step 6: Specify type of installation	You can select either Typical or Custom. Choose Custom to specify which products you want to install.
Step 7: Specify folder and products	Do not select the license manager in the product list. You do not need to install the license manager on client systems.
Step 8: Configure the license manager as a Service	Not applicable on client systems
Step 9: Specify installation options	Same
Step 10: Confirm your choices	Same
Step 11: Read product configuration notes	Same
Step 12: Complete the installation	The license manager must be running on your license server before you can run MATLAB on a client.
