Research

I am a fourth year PhD student in the math department at the University of Washington, where I am advised by Cynthia Vinzant. I am interested in real algebraic geometry and matrix varieties.

Before coming to the University of Washington, I did my bachelor’s at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and completed Part III of the Mathematical Tripos at Cambridge.

In Autumn 2026, I am running a formal verification project through the UW Math AI Lab. We are working towards formalizing the characterization of principal minor equivalence due to Chatterjee, Ghosh, Gujar, and Raj, which builds upon recent work of my academic older sister, Abeer Al Ahmadieh.
