- Functional Notation Review: This is a review from my precalculus course about how to use functional notation. If you are having mechanical problems writing out f(x+h)-f(x), then read this.

- Basic connections between functions and derivatives: This was given to you when you did the 3rd worksheet in quiz section.
- A proof of the limit of sin(x)/x: This is a supplement for your own interest. We will use this limit next Wednesday in class. You don't need to know this proof, but you do need to know the value of this limit.
- Now that we have finished the discussion of the all the basic limit ideas, here are some things to help you review:
  - A basic graphical review of the key graphs and limits: you must know these. In this sheet, I also mention how we use the sin(x)/x limits (which will come up next week).
  - A brief summary and flowchart of limit strategies: This is a reposted, I already put this up last week.
  - 30 Limit Problems Randomly Selected From Old Midterm Exams: Attempt these on your own for more practice.
  - Solution to the 30 Randomly Selected Old Midterm Limit Problems: Only look at these AFTER you have attempted the practice on your own.

- 10.1, 2.1, 2.2 Overview: Contains a quick summaries of the key facts and definitions of the first week.
- Precalculus Example Problems (these are problems directly from Precalculus tests at the University of Washington, you need to know these things to do well in this course):
  - Circles, Lines and Their Intersections: Do you know the equation of a circle? a line? Do you know how to use them and find intersections?
  - Functional Notation and Working with Multipart Functions: Do you know what f(x+h) - f(x) means? Do you know how to work with multipart functions?
  - Parametric Linear Motion Problems: Can you find equations desciribing motion on a straight line at a constant speed?
  - Parametric Circular Motion: Can you find the equations describing motion on a circle at a constant speed?
- Precalc Review for First week: The first page contains a summary of all the key solving facts (at the bottom is a full example of how to solve the trig problem sin(x) = 0.4). The bottom of the second page discusses circular motion.
- Longer Precalc Review: A longer review that I give to my precalc students.
- Unit Circle and Trig Review: This is a trig review sheet with the unit circle (this come directly from my precalculus course that I teach).

Announced 1/2/2017: Welcome to Math 124. This webpage contains the course syllabus, the homework schedule, a course calendar and links to Math 124 material. Throughout the quarter I will be posting numerous review sheets and announcements. Please check back regularly.

Some notes about the first week of the quarter:
- You will complete a worksheet in quiz section on Tuesday of this week. You are responsible for bringing a copy of the worksheet (For this week, get the "Circles and Lines" which is part of week 1) to quiz section. See the "Math 124 materials website" link on the right-hand sidebar for this and all subsequent worksheets (or go to the calendar). Worksheets count toward the "participation" portion of your grade. Also, here is a link that contains all the worksheets in one file.
- All students must have access to Webassign in order to do the homework. The access you purchase for Math 124 will also work for 125, 126, and 324 (only one code needed for these four courses since they all use the same book). For information on how to purchase access, follow the link below and read carefully: Webassign Purchasing and Log-In Instructions.
- Note: UW students need to use a special login page for webassign. (You can log-in for free as part of the two week trial period even if you haven't puchased webassign yet. So everyone has access to the homework on the first day of class.): https://www.webassign.net/washington/login.html.
