Bipartite terminological demystification
How would you like to de-mystify two terms at once? On Thursday, you can find out about both Professional Development and UW's K-12 Institute. Dana Riley Black, who is the director of the former for the latter will be our guest. She will lead us through a segment of a videotape professional development series featuring Constance Kamii (one of Mathematics Education's more colorful and influential characters). That should be fun in itself, and will be a good lead-in for her to tell us a bit about what she and the K-12 Institute are up to, and how it relates to our own mission in life.
