I think the most consistently recurring theme of the Brown Bags has been Calculus--and for good reason, since the issues are important and sufficiently thorny so that there is no danger of our ever exhausting the theme by actually resolving them. What discussion can do is clarify and enrich, both of which seem highly worthwhile.

The current iteration of the discussion was scheduled at the behest of the department's ad hoc committee to review first-year calculus, which has contracted to come up with some meaty questions upon which to focus our conversation. It should be a good one!
