Brown Bag Teaching/Learning Seminar #11 and 12
the Koblitzes in South Africa and Bill McCallum from the University of Arizona

The next two Thursdays will both have Brown Bags happening:

On Thursday, May 15, we will have a travelogue! Neal and Ann Koblitz are just back from a trip to South Africa. They visited a batch of different schools, with lots of help and guidance from Jan Persens, who was one of our guests for the International Brown Bag. I know no details, but judging by the way Neal lit up at the mention of the trip, I'd say we have a lot of good things to hear.

On Thursday, May 22, Bill McCallum from the University of Arizona will be here to talk about the progress of Calculus Reform at the University of Arizona, where the movement has been very lively for a number of years. (Yes, that IS the same week as Paul Zorn's talk. From St. Olaf's to Arizona in 48 hours--Calculus moves fast!)

Both of these conversations will take place at noon in the Math Lounge.
