Brown Bag Teaching/Learning Seminar #12
ENGINEERS!

A recurrent question in many departmental conversations is "If I were a faculty member in X department, what would I be hoping the math department would provide my students with?" A particularly prevalent value for X is Engineering, since so many of our students go that way. This Thursday's Brown Bag will attempt a little elucidation on the subject: we will have at least one engineer (negotiations are under way for another as well) to tell us a little about how their students actually use their mathematics and to discuss the corresponding questions and issues.

Come to the Math Lounge at noon on Thursday, May 2 and join the conversation!

FOLLOW-UP: Brown Bag day is here and we have not only an electrical engineer but a civil engineer coming to talk with us. Actually, they're both very civil, not to mention very kind to turn up, so I hope lots of you will come and join the conversation.
