Brown Bag Teaching/Learning Seminar #1
PFF Progress Report

This year's first Teaching/Learning Brown Bag seminar will take place this Thursday. Its subject will be the progress of and plans for the PFF.

There are probably a certain number of you saying "PFPHWHAT?" and crtainly a certain number of you who know quite a lot about one aspect or another of it.

To the former: PFF stands for Preparing Future Faculty, which is the name of a two year grant from the Pew Charitable Foundation aimed at helping us to broaden the educational base of our graduate program. It gave us the opportunity to do a bunch of neat things last year, and we are planning another bunch for this year.

To the latter: if you can manage to, please come on Thursday and help broaden the entire department's educational base in the area of PFF.

To everyone: please join us if you have any questions or suggestions, or would just like to know what's up.

We will meet at NOON on October 5 (Thursday) in the Math Lounge.

ANNUAL REMINDER: the Brown Bags span two class hours so as to maximize the number of people who can get there at all. It follows as the night the day that late arrivals and early departures are 100% acceptable.
