Four of us are just back from an MER (= Mathematicians and Educational Reform) workshop at which teams from 13 major universities spent three days discussing all manner of aspects of their graduate programs. Furthermore, for the next two days Uri Treisman, who is a walking gold mine of fascinating ideas about education on and off campus, will be in our midst.

On Thursday, May 11 at noon in the Math Lounge we will start to begin to commence a discussion of the multitude of ideas stirred up by these two events.
