Brown Bag Teaching/Learning Seminar #8
THE PHYSICS CONNECTION!

One of the recurring themes in our calculus discussions has been Physics (need therefore, lack thereof in our students, fact that it underlies an enormous percentage of the content.) Add to that a report from student that he had taken a really great introductory Physics course here and found it very helpful with 124, which he took simultaneously, and clearly action was called for. As a result of said action, we have as our guest for the upcoming Brown Bag Professor Jerry Miller of the Physics Department, who will bring some materials from the course in question and answer our questions about introductory physics courses. In return, I have contracted that we will answer his about the calculus sequence--or at any rate try to!

For far too many of us, Physics has become the Mystery Department in the Gorgeous Building. Come and help begin to build some bridges!

We will meet at noon on Thursday, February 23 in the Math Lounge.
