The average on the final was 51 out of 70; the median was 49. The scores ranged from 27 to 66. When computing your grade for the course, I "curved" the final score (so that the curved average on the final would be roughly the same as the average on the homework). The formula for the curve is: if your score was

out of 70, then the curved score is sqrt(70
N
) out of 70 (or multiply by 100/70 to get a percentage).
