solutions. Also, read Section 3.1, and start reading

- For Friday, 14 January: Do the problems from Sections 5.1 and 5.2. Also read
Sections 3.2 and 3.3.

- For Friday, 21 January: Do the problems from Section 5.3;
read Section 3.4. PDF version of solutions.
- For Friday, 28 January: Do the problems from Section 5.4.
Read Sections 4.1 and 4.2.

5.4.7. You may do problem 5.4.16 for extra credit. PDF version of solutions.
- For Friday, 4 February: Do the problems from Section 5.5.
Read Sections 4.1 and 4.2. PDF version of solutions.
- Before the exam, look at the problems from Sections 5.6,
5.7 (skip problems 5 and 6), and 6.1 (skip problems 8(f) and
8(g)). PDF version of solutions.
- By Friday, 18 February: read Sections 4.3 and 4.4. You
might want to review the material from Sections 3.1-3.4 and
4.1-4.4 in general.
- Due Friday, 25 February: the problems from Section 7.1.
Note: problem 6 uses the phrase "if the characteristic of the
field F is not 2". You can ignore this,
if you want to: you may assume that F is either
R or C. PDF version of solutions.
- Due Friday, 3 March: Sections 7.2
(skip problems 6 and 9(c)) and 7.3 (skip problem 10).
