Announcements:

• The final exam is Tuesday, December 14, 8:30-10:20. I will be in my office the day before (Monday, December 13, 10:00-5:00, more or less), in case you have questions.
• Here are solutions to the mid-term exam.
• Mid-term exam information: the median was 75, the average was 76. If I had to give a curve for the exam, I would say that scores of 84-100 correspond to grades of 3.5-4.0 (i.e., these are A's); scores of 67-83 correspond to 2.5-3.5 (i.e., these are B's).
• There is a newsgroup for this course, uwash.class.math402. Follow this link for instructions on how to join it (you should also be able to read the newsgroup from any UW computer just by clicking on the name of the group in the previous sentence).

Homework:

• Before the final exam: do Chapter 2, Section 10 and Chapter 2, Miscellany, but do not hand in.
