(On the corner of 3rd Ave. S and South Lander) We will meet on the second floor and there will be signs. Parking is available is two small lots adjacent to the center. Additional parking is also available in a large lot north of the complex.

  • Nicole Davis (Cleveland High School Math Coach and UW doctoral student):
    • Effective Use of Groupwork: Participants will experience a group-worthy task, which will be followed by a discussion on issues surrounding the effective, intentional use of groupwork in the secondary mathematics classroom.
  • Connie Savoie (West Seattle High School)
    • Exploring Non-Euclidean Geometry through Taxi-cab Geometry

1:00-4:00 Afternoon Program: Three Sketchpad Activities

  • Art Mabbott (Seattle Public Schools) A Middle School Sketchpad
    Activity
  • Jim King (UW Math Department): How to construct if you forget your straightedge -- you can do more than you think.
  • David Goodwin (White Pass High School) Some favorite bells and whistles with Sketchpad in the classroom.
