Homework on Function Operations

• Let f(x)=x^2-2 and g(x)=sqrt(x) + 1.
  Find f + g, f - g, fg, f/g , fog, gof (the last two are supposed to be compositions)
• Write the following functions in terms of simpler functions using the "function operations" given in class (see above).
  (3x^2-2)(x+5)
  sin(x)/(x+5)
  sin(3(x-5))
  sqrt{2 + [3(x-4)]^2}
  In the above use 2, 2 or 3, 3 and 5 functions respectively.
