Problems Part A:
Do these problems and turn them in individually.
- 4.1 (10 points) State the definition of an Apollonian circle of A and B
(as a locus).
Prove that an Apollonian circle is really a circle.
- 4.2 (10 points) Prove that an Apollonian circle of A and B inverts A to B.
- 4.3 (5 points) Draw 3 points A and B and P. construct the Apollonian circle
of A and B through a point P. The construction should work for a random P.
- 4.4 (10 points) Draw two points A and B. Construct the Apollonian circles
of A and B with ratios 1/3, 1/2, 2, 3, and also 1.
Problems Part B:
IMPORTANT. Each set of these problems are to be turned in by a
GROUP of TWO or THREE persons. Everyone is responsible for understanding
all the ideas, but you can divide up the writing as you wish.
