8.6 Composing a reflection and a translation. (10 points)

  1. Let A be a point on a line M and let B be a point so that AB is perpendicular to m. If S is reflection in line m and T is translation by vector AB, state clearly what isometry is the composition U = ST.
  2. Prove your statement in (a) using the definitions and theorems we have proved (except for this precise statement of course).

 

Study Problems for Major Quiz

The problems in HSGAS, 6.2.5 #2 and 6.2.6, #1 - #7 are examples of the kinds of problems we have been concentrating on for the last few days. They make good study problems. Other problems were handed out Monday.
