Monday and Wednesday. Read 3.6 for
the latter part of class on Wednesday and for Friday.

When the book says prove, this means to explain it carefully and thoroughly so that a smart and friendly but skeptical person would be completely convinced. Thus you will probably have to write a few sentences, not just equations.

Section 3.5. Do a sample of problems 1 – 26 sufficient for you to be sure that you know now to do such problems with confidence. These are basic, but they are also very close to what you have already been doing, except for the concept of dimension and the special dimensions called nullity and rank of a matrix.
á This will consist of very short answers about dimension, especially about rank and nullity of examples of matrices.
