READING

Read Sections 1.8 (pp. 80-84), 1.9, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 (pp. 202-206).  Note: Chapter 2 is supposed to be a prerequisite for the course.  You may wish to scan it.

All problem pages needed from JRA are or will be on the Catalyst Workspace.

Due Monday 10/24 by 5PM: WebQ D

á          The questions on the WebQ will use the terms Òsubspace,Ó Òspanning set,Ó Òrange,Ó Ònull spaceÓ as well as linear independence and dependence.  Study sections 3.2 and 3.3 and look ahead to the homework problems a bit.

á          Note: This WebQ will not be set up so that you can redo it.  Prepare in advance.

Due Wednesday 10/26: Written Assignment 3

Reminder 1:  Write the NUMBER problems you have done IN A BOX at the top of the page. (If you have done all, you can say ÒallÓ or Òall but problem XÓ.  Or you can list the numbers you did.)  You will get some credit based on this number.  (Only count problems for which you got an answer that you think might be right.)
