READING
Read Sections 1.5, 1.6, 1.7. (You have already read 1.1, 1.2, 1.3; we will pick up some of 1.4 later.)
All problem pages needed from JRA are on the Catalyst Workspace.
á Work problems in the range #1 – 27 on pages 78 of JRA (Section 1.7). Check your answers to the odd problems in the back. Do enough so that you are sure you can do any such problems successfully before attempting WebQ C.
á The questions on the WebQ will be similar to the questions in JRA , page 78-79, Section 1.7 #1 – 27 so be prepared.
á You will need a copy of page 78 to answer the WebQ, because the vectors and matrices on that page will be used in the WebQ.
á Note: This WebQ will not be set up so that you can redo it. Prepare in advance.
Reminder 1: Indicate the problems you have done at the top of the page. (If you have done all, you can say ÒallÓ or Òall but problem XÓ. Or you can list the numbers you did.) You will get some credit based on this number. (Only count problems for which you got an answer that you think might be right.)
Reminder 2: Staple your papers, or use a paper clip.
á Section 1.5: #42, 43, 44, 45, 48 (answer in vector form!)
á Section 1.5: #66 (Hint: Use the T given in the problem and define another upper triangular S using some other letters.)
á Section 1.5: #68 (show your work)
á Section 1.6: #2 (Note that this requires different computations on the left and the right side of the equation. Show all the products along the way, such as FE.)
á Section 1.6: #4
á Section 1.6: #10
á Section 1.6: #26
á Section 1.6: #27
á Section 1.6: #29
á Section 1.7: #46
