Hi folks!

Grading of the final exams has commenced.
I will be holding one office hour this week, on Friday, December 14, from 2 to 3 PM so you can stop by if you would like to see your exam.

If you can't make that time, you are welcome to stop by any of my office hours to see your exam next quarter. My office hours will be posted on my math department page when I decide what they will be.

I will post final exam scores to Catalyst, along with grades, when I have calculated course grades. I hope to have done this by Friday at 2, but it may take longer.

Have a good break!

Dr. Conroy

Here is a table giving an approximate 4.0-scale interpretation of your exam score. This is just to give you a rough idea of how you are doing. The curve used to create this interpretation will not be the same curve used at the end of the course to determine your grade, since that curve will involve more data, but it will be somewhat similar.

Welcome to Math 124 F.

Announcements and other important information will appear here.

The textbook for the course is "Calculus" by Stewart, vol.1 available in the UW bookstore. This is a portion of the hardbound text "Calculus, 7th Edition, Early Transcendentals" by Stewart. Either text will work. The custom version vol. 1 covers Math 124/5 at the UW. The custom version vol. 2 covers Math 126/324 at the UW. In addition to the textbook, you will need a "Webassign access code"; see link below. You can purchase this code bundled with the textbook at the bookstore OR you can purchase a standalone access code which contains the ebook (if you already have the textbook or locate a used copy). If you purchase the code and ebook at the bookstore it is around $100. You can also purchase the code and ebook directly from the publisher at this website for $70.

The homework for this course will be on WebAssign.

Here is the link to the login page for WebAssign.

Here is a jpg with instructions on how to log in.

The course discussion board is now availble (link at right). Please take advantage of it to ask questions about homework problems or course topics. You might also use it as a way to arrange study groups. I will get immediate emails when posts are added to the board, so this is as good a way to contact me as email, but allows everyone to see my response.

You will need worksheet for some Tuesday quiz sections. You can get them from the 124 Materials Website one week at a time, or use this pdf which contains all of the worksheets.
