Corrections to the text for Math 326, Winter 2014

Some of the errors listed below are important to understanding, so be sure you've entered them in your copy of the book.

In 5.1.5, change second sentence from "It is closed?" to "Is it closed?"
1/5 124 In 5.2.6, the "fact" is needed to prove (5.2-5), but not to prove (5.2-4).
1/5 125 In definition of continuous, limit should be as (x,y) goes to (x0,y0) rather than to (0,0).
1/5 127 Second sentence of 5.3.9 should start "Is it ..." (not "It is ...").
1/5 134 Second equation of (6.1-9), last partial derivative should be partial of v (not of u).
1/5 151 In (6.4-19), derivative should be with respect to x1 (not u1).
6/6/14 186 ["Correction" to Exercise 6.8.8 removed, problem is correct.]
1/5 190 In second line under (6.9-5), should be AC - B2 (not AC2 - B2).
1/5 197 Three lines before §7.1, e* should be ε* (so the latter symbol appear three times in this line).
1/5 213 Right side of equation (7.6-4) should be "θ[(Ah2 ... " (that is, insert "(").
1/5 229 Third line of 8.2.7 should start "part of the locus that is in a sufficiently small ..." (that is, replace "is" by "that is in").
1/5 238 In last equation in middle of page, numerator should be Δn (not Δm).
1/5 239 In third line below equation (9-6), change "we came" to "we come".
1/5 & 3/17 262 In 9.5.2, it should say "Verify Theorem I" (not "Theorem III").
In 9.5.6, should be y (not v) = sin u sinh v.
4/1 468 In 15.32.5, specify a, b > 0 (or else replace a and b by their absolute values in the answer on p. 720).
1/5 731 The page number for "Region, regular" should be 457 (not 451).
