Announced 10/3/19: Here are some new postings:
- Here is my Week 2 Newsletter, please read!
- Here is a Basic Integrals Page. Up to section 5.4, the only integration method is "simplify and hope". That is, simplify your integrand, and hope that you end up with something in this table.
- Section 5.5 is about changing the independent variable (or substitution), here is a supplement on some of the theory behind u-substitution.
- Here is a list of basic integral practice problems (these should all be fast for you, see how many you can complete in 10 minutes!) and here are solutions.
- Here is an Substitution Quiz and solutions. Students told me this quiz was hard, so try these out and see if you can do these "hard" substitution problems.
- If you having trouble choosing "dx" or "dy", try this exercise four practice problems (from lecture) for finding the area between curves and solutions. For all problems in chapter 6, you start by choosing "dx" or "dy" in the same way as these four problems!

- Here are overhead summaries of the steps in constructing a Riemann sum. You will do this a lot in the first few weeks and throughout the quarter.
- Here is our Calculus Fact Sheet containing the basic table of derivatives and antiderivatives that you will use.
- Riemann Sums (pdf): This is a copy of a couple of the overheads from my 5.1 lecture concerning approximating rectangles. In addition, it includes most of the solution to the cubic problem from the homework.
- Calculus I Review (pdf): Contains a table of the basic derivatives, the basic derivative applications, and finishes with a review of trig and algebra (you received a copy if you attended quiz section).
Announced 9/16/19: Welcome to Math 125! This webpage contains the course syllabus, the homework schedule, a course calendar and links to review material. Each week, I will be posting numerous new review sheets and announcements. Please check back regularly.

Some notes about the first week of the quarter:
- General course information can be found at the Math Department 125 Website.
- Your first homework assignment will be visible the first day of class. Note: UW students need to use a special login page for webassign. (You can log-in for free as part of the two week trial period even if you haven't puchased webassign yet. So everyone has access to the homework on the first day of class.): https://www.webassign.net/washington/login.html.
- All students must have access to Webassign in order to do the homework. If you purchased lifetime-of-edition access for Math 124, then it will also work for 125, 126, and 324 (only one code needed for these four courses since they all use the same book). In which case you won't be asked to enter a code again and you can just log-in. If this is your first calculus course at UW, then follow the link below: Least Expensive Option to Purchase Access Online
