The courses address various Essential Learnings. To learn more, read the detailed course descriptions (linked above) and also the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Page.

Location and Lodging (included!)

All the courses are held on the Seattle campus of the University of Washington, in Hansee Hall. Lodging on campus is available to Washington teachers at no additional charge. Lunch is provided for for all participants.

Cost

For Washington teachers, there is a registration fee, but there is also a stipend. The registration fee for the Summer Geometry Institute or for all five days of Rich Math Tasks is $50 and the fee for one part only of Rich Math Tasks is $30. . There is also a $25 late fee for registrations after June 15.

The stipend is $100 per day, or $500 for the Summer Geometry Institute or the entire Rich Math Tasks or $300 for the Rich Math Tasks Focus on Algebra or $200 for the Rich Math Tasks Focus on Geometry.

The program is thanks to the support of the MC3 grant through the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Out-of-state teachers are welcome to apply, but their expenses are not subsidized and thus the fee is larger. Consult the Out-of State Cost page for details.

Clock hours are available for total hours of participation (including evening sessions) or UW credit for Math 497 is available at additional cost for the five-day programs. (For UW math credit, some hours of After-Dinner Math are required.)
