What are NWM courses like?

Like all NWMI programs, the minicourses blend practical hands-on activity with reflection about math content. You will feel confident to use what you learn in your classroom.

NWMI courses are in alignment with the NCTM Standards and the Washington Essential Learnings.

FOR WHOM?
High School and Middle School Teachers who wish to delve deeply into a math or teaching topic in a supportive collegial environment.
DEADLINES AND FEES

Washington Teachers: $40 per course before June 15. $65 after. Deadline: Until class is filled.

MEALS
Lunches are included (and breakfasts for those staying on campus and those who want them).
LODGING

For Washington teachers: Lodging is included for one night for one course or 3 nights for two courses.

CREDIT/CLOCK HOURS

Applications for credit or clock hours will be made on site when you arrive.

Fourteen Clock hours per course will be available for an additional cost of $2.00 per hour. You can include up to 8 additional hours for After-Hour Math. Payment for clock hours is by check only, not credit card. Be sure to bring your checkbook for clock hours.

UW credit is available for minicourses if some After-Dinner Math evening is included. Two UW credits of Math 497 for two courses together will be available for the additional cost of $180. Payment can be made by credit card or check. (For UW math 497 credit, 6 additional hours of After-Dinner Math are required.)

DAILY START AND STOP TIMES
  • Sun 7/29: 7-9 PM -- an evening program to kick off the week and provide information!
  • Mon-Thu 7/30-8/2: From 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day of class.
  • Mon-Thu 7:30-9:30 - Optional After-Dinner Math
