Worksheets. There will
be weekly worksheets done during the “long” TA session on Tuesday. You will do the
worksheets in small groups with the help from your TA. BRING A COPY of the
worksheet you will be working on to each Tuesday session. You can download them
from the MATH 124 website.
Go to the outline of the week you are currently in and then click on link for
the ``worksheet”. You can also buy a packet containing all the worksheets,
homework and old finals at the Copy Center in the basement of the
Communications Building (down the hall from the Math Study Center). This is not
required as the same materials are available from the above website but could
be useful if printing them weekly is a problem.
Homework
discussion and quizzes. During the “short” TA session on Thursday you will
have an opportunity to ask questions about homework. There will be a 15 minute
quiz every week at the end of the
Thursday TA session with the exception of the 1st week and the weeks
of the midterms: weeks 5 and 9.
Homework. Homework
assignments will be collected weekly during the Thursday TA session, except for
the weeks 5, 9 and 11. You will find the exact schedule and links to the
homework assignments here. Check this page regularly for any updates
about the homework.
Exams. There will be two midterm exams during the
Tuesday TA sessions: October 25th, and November 22nd. The Final exam
is on Saturday, December 10th.
Calculator and notes policy for exams and quizzes. You may use a scientific calculator for
Math 124. Graphing calculators are not allowed on quizzes and exams. The
scientific calculator should have trigonometric functions, like Sin and
Late homework and
make-up. Late homework will
NOT be accepted. If you cannot make it to class that day, try to arrange for
someone else to hand in your homework. There are no make-ups in this class. The
lowest worksheet score, homework score and quiz score will be dropped. If you have to miss a midterm for a
compelling and well-documented reason, talk to the instructor as soon as
possible.
