MATH 124, score of 3 on AB advanced placement test,
or score of 3 on BC advanced placement test.

Important Course Information

The textbook for the course is "Calculus, 8th Edition, Early Transcendentals" by Stewart. An electronic version is included with your purchase of a WebAssign access code, so a paper copy is not required (Note: There is no way to buy only the access code, without the ebook.) However, we do recommend that you read the textbook, and a paper copy will make that easier. An older edition of the paper textbook (7th or 8th edition) will serve just as well, and will cost significantly less. Some smaller, custom versions of this textbook (volume 1 covers both Math124 and Math125) may be available at the UW bookstore for $30-$40. Alternatively, you can buy both the new custom paper textbook that covers Math 124/125 and the Webassign access code as a bundle at the University Bookstore for $135.

- Number of tries in doing homework via WebAssign:
By default, 5 tries are allowed. On multiple
choice parts, however, only 1 try if there
are 2, 3, or 4 possible answers, and 2 tries if there are 5 or
more possible answers.

Recommended preparation
Read the textbook as well as the above website before and after each lecture.
