R.L. Moore in the Movies
We are going to ease gently into the seminar season by watching a movie. Specifically, we will be looking at "Challenge in the Classroom", an MAA videotape about R.L.Moore. Since his approach to teaching topology has had an impact on many hundreds of mathematicians in the numerous decades since he first introduced it, this seems an appropriate way to launch our thinking on teaching and learning of mathematics.
The film will begin at 12:30 sharp on Thursday, October 5 in the Math Lounge.
