Assignment 2 (Due Friday 1/23)

Note: the the problems should be on separate sheets of paper, done neatly and accurately. The explanations should be written clearly and well organized as a list of steps and explanations.

1. Draw 3 points A, B, O more or less at random on a page. Suppose that O is the special point for DWEG.

2. On a new sheet of paper, draw point O near the center of the page; O is the special point for DWEG. Next, draw an E-circle c with E-center P, with radius about 3 inches so that O is inside c and about 1 inch from the edge of the circle (this does NOT have to be precise).

1. Show that c is also a D-circle by constructing the D-center A of c.
2. Explain the main steps of the construction and explain to convince a friendly skeptic why this is really the D-center.
