The main focus of the last 3 weeks of the class will be on transformational geometry. We will study essentially all of the book of Brown, plus a bit more about transformations in 3-space. There will be a few other miscellaneous topics as well.
Reading: (From Brown, Transformational Geometry)
Some sections have already been read and discussed and used in the course: specifically, the definitions of line reflection and point reflection, line symmetry and point symmetry, and the properties of the composition of two line reflections (parallel and intersecting), with application to kaleidoscopes.
We will return to this material, with some review, and then go farther and deeper. This list indicates the reading that will go along with each class meeting. The problems on assignments will also match up with this reading.
