Q3:

Using your observations in Explore More – Distance to a Segment. Sketch the outline of the set of points that are at distance d from the segment AB in the figure.

4. Three Scripts

Did you succeed in constructing the 3 scripts?  Check off each one.

5. Exp 5.3, Investigation 3, Ripples, Strips, and Inscribed Circles.

Q1: How many?      How to construct?

Q2: What shape?    What homework problem gives the justification?

Q3: Sketch the 4 traces

Q4:  Why are the circles congruent?

6. Exp 5.3, Investigation 3: These are the Big Conclusions.  Use another sheet.

Q1: How many points?  Give a proof.

Q2: All tangent?  Give a good explanation.

Q3: State clearly the facts about concurrent angle bisectors (interior and exterior).

7. Construction on paper

Draw an extended triangle ABC (not a special triangle) on a sheet of paper.  Use the two sides of a ruler to draw 3 strips; each having a triangle side as midline. Then draw the 6 angle bisecting lines (3 interior, 3 exterior) and construct with striaightedge and compass the incircle and the 3 excircles.
