Trapezoids and Ratios
Let ABCD be a trapezoid, as in the figure. Let E be the intersection of the extended non-parallel sides, the lines BC and DA, and let F be the intersections of the diagonals.
- Let h denote the height of the trapezoid (i.e., the distance between lines AB and CD) and let H denote the height of the triangle ABE with base AB.
- Let P and Q be the intersections of line EF with lines AB and CD respectively.
